About Me

BLUF: Software Engineer, Palantir, Imperial MEng, Computational Logic, Singapore, Writer, Singer.

  • I’m a software engineer.
    • I currently work at Palantir, where I interned and worked part-time during the final year of my studies.
    • I’ve also worked at Imperial College London, Google Zurich, J.P. Morgan and EFG Bank as well.
  • I studied a Masters in Computing (Software Engineering) at Imperial College London. I was awarded the Governor’s Prize for my efforts (as the top graduating student, with a GPA of 92.8% overall).
    • I also did a very well-received Final Project on symbolic model checking, for which I was awarded the IBM Project Prize. This also made me the 2nd student in the Department of Computing to have scored 100% on their Final Project. See MCMAS-Dynamic for more information.
    • I was also awarded several academic prizes along the way:
      • the BCS London Central Branch Prize (top student in year 4, and project prize winner),
      • the G-Research Prize (top student in year 3),
      • MindLink Software Engineering Prize (top student in year 2),
      • Tensor Society Mathematics for Engineers Prize (top student in Statistics in year 2),
      • Formicary Software Engineering Prize (top student in year 1), and
      • Morgan Stanley IT Prize (top performance in December exams in year 1)
    • My personal reading interests include computational logic, software engineering and distributed systems.
  • I’m originally from Singapore.
    • I moved to the UK to study at Imperial.
    • I spent the summer of 2014 in Zurich (as an intern at Google).
    • I don’t think I’ve spent more than a month anywhere else.
  • My hobbies include writing, board and video games, programming, personal finance, training my typing skills and singing.
    • I maintain an active blog here; I generally write once a week. The blog covers some general thoughts I have, and a number of the aforementioned hobbies too.
    • I can usually type comfortably at about 135-155 WPM, though my record for one minute is 171.
    • My vocal range runs from around F2 to Bb4 or so. I can usually falsetto up to around F5.
  • When I meet people I generally enjoy having a conversation with them over coffee and/or a meal.
